If we speaking about Muro festivities, it supposed speak about the Moors and Christians, one of the festivities more entrenched in Valencia, next to Fallas. But our Moors and Christians have much more history and roots, as a festive remembrance of the battles between Muslims and Christians during the Reconquest.
In the l'Alcoià-Comtat zone, battles waged by Christian armies and warlords Muslims as Al-Azraq, accounted inspiration for the festive celebration of these historic events. Muro is an important landmark in the world of Moors and Christians Festival with a very strong and historical particularities.
Its festivities in honour of the Mare de Déu dels Desemparats, take place the second weekend of May and with the participation of 11 festive entities; Filaes or Comparsas. Specifically six filaes in the Christian camp (with the latest addition of Filà Templars) and five representatives filaes side of the crescent.
